Background 

Fernando Alexander Pesantez Torres is a third-year graduate project assistant in the College of Nanoscale Sciences and Engineering at the University at Albany, SUNY, pursuing a Ph.D. in Nanoscale Engineering. He has experience in nanobiophotonics and bioelectronics. He received training in mammalian cell culture, neural differentiation, photonic device designing, microscopy, and spectroscopy techniques. He is now working on projects involving the development of biosensors for neurotransmitter detection and flexible microelectrode arrays for neuronal recording.
